To assist local nonprofit organizations and agencies, as well as local high school students, members of the Elizabethtown Rotary Club are organizing two Volunteer Fairs at both East Bladen and West Bladen high schools.
Any agency, municipality, non-profit, business, etc. that would be interested in utilizing volunteers while assisting the local high school students grow should consider participating in this program.
The first Volunteer Fair will be Wednesday, Sept. 25, at East Bladen High School. West Bladen will hold their Volunteer Fair the following Wednesday, Oct. 2. Each fair will begin at 11:15 a.m. and end at 1:15 p.m. Each school will provide table and chairs. Those participating will be asked to arrive at both schools at least 15 to 30 minutes early to allow time for set up.
There are some items we suggest you consider before the fair dates and before you decide to participate in the fairs. What types of duties and responsibilities will you need the students to volunteer for? Will it be acceptable if the students volunteer for a one time service? Will the need be for the students to work a set schedule on an ongoing basis? Is there a minimum age limit for a volunteer? Will the students be provided documentation of hours worked once the hours are completed? What types of signage, materials or signup sheets will you want to bring?
