BLADENBORO — Folks are gearing up in Bladenboro for plenty of good fun on Saturday as the 21st annual Bladenboro Fun Day will kick off at 9 a.m. with an opening ceremony and a carnival-like atmosphere.
“We’ll begin with a pancake breakfast put on by the Rotary Club,” said Joyce Walters, one of the events organizers.
The pancake breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. in the Bladenboro Historical building.
Beginning at about 9 a.m., the opening ceremony will be held in front of the Bladenboro Historical Building on South Main Street.
“It will be a day of fun for all ages,” said Walters.
There will be food for purchase provided by Dove’s Restaurant and T-shirts for sale. Boney Amusements will be on hand with an assortment of rides and games for everyone. While admission to the Bladenboro Fun Day is free, folks do have to purchase tickets for the amusement rides.
“There will be a Ferris wheel, a kiddie train, games and other rides,” said Walters.
She added there will also be a bake sale, which will feature many tasty treats including homemade cakes and brownies.
“Vendors will be giving away prizes and selling crafts,” said Walters.
She encourages folks to come out and enjoy the opening ceremonies, spend the day on the rides and tour the various museums and art gallery that are housed within the Bladenboro Historical Building.
