ELIZABETHTOWN — A Bladenboro man pled guilty Monday in Bladen County Superior Court to felony offenses involving a juvenile.

Gregory Lynn Hester entered the guilty plea to felony offenses of solicitation to deliver a controlled substance to a minor, as well as a crime against nature on Monday. He received a sentence of 28 to 34 months in the N.C. Department of Corrections, but that sentence was suspended. Hester will, instead, be under five years of supervised probation, 90 days of which he will be placed under electronic house arrest.

As part of the sentence, Hester was also ordered to not have contact with the victim in the case, nor can he be alone with minor children during the five-year probation period.

According to a release from District Attorney Jon David’s Office, the incident took place in March 2011, when “Hester solicited to provide the drug Xanax to minors in his care. He then sexually assaulted a minor female in his home.”

The investigation was handled by the Bladenboro Police Department, and Bladen County Assistant District Attorney Irene Riel handled the prosecution.
