BLADENBORO — The Bladenboro Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual responsible for shooting into a home last week.

“On Sunday, Nov. 17, a lady came home and found that a large calibre round had gone through the facial board and impacted a set of glass French doors,” said Bladenboro Police Chief Chris Hunt.

The home, located at 302 Grace St. in Bladenboro, received damages estimated to be about $800 and the homeowner is unable to afford the repairs, said Hunt.

The call came in about 7:30 p.m., said Hunt. The department is asking anyone with any information about the incident to contact Hunt at 910-874-2422.

“All tips will be kept confidential,” said Hunt.

He added that, during hunting season, folks need to be aware of their surroundings and to know what potentially may lie on the other side of trees in which you are hunting.

“A large calibre round can travel as much as one mile,” said Hunt.
